The plot dimensions and the functionally-orientated optimisation of the housing area led to two trapeze-shaped buildings. The parallel volumes were offset to define an access courtyard to the east and a garden courtyard in the northwest. The façade colours in a combination of dark green and dark blue tones specify these outdoor areas. The bridge elements at the entrances outline the topographical conditions and enhance the units’ privacy. The court-like apertures incised into the volumes’ roof area also provide privacy as shielded loggias, despite the development’s density. The floor-plans’ variety influenced the organisation and size of specific windows, and therefore the façade design. Reduced details for the eaves and window sills are formally defining elements. Windows with different depths in the façade reflect the spatial situation inside and the necessity for shutter sills in individual cases. These characterise the buildings’ expression and qualify the frugal exterior appearance.
