The project follows the line of the topography with a volume placed vertically on the slope, its terrace-shaped appearance referring in varying ways to the landscape. The entrance floor is characterised by a loggia-like, three-metre high indoor/outdoor space, which opens up the living area towards the landscape like a panorama. The view focuses on the horizon line of the landscape when seated, while the opposite lake shore is the dominant feature when standing. While the residential floor refers to the roof-level of the neighbouring house with its high balustrade, the lowest floor is characterised by the courtyard-like, covered garden area in front of it. The building’s materialisation, consisting of terracotta-coloured in-situ cast concrete, wood, brick etc., playfully refers to the clay flower pots on the new artificial garden levels that define the atmosphere of the exterior spaces.
