The property is the last plot eligible for development before the beginning of the agricultural zone. It is situated on a steep slope that rises northwards from the street. To the west, it is limited by an adjoining residential neighbourhood. The other boundaries are formed by a forest to the north and meadows to the east and south. The new buildings are staggered above one another, whereby the lowest building accommodates the car park. Thus all residents of the three single-family homes can enjoy privacy and a panorama view of Lake Lucerne and the Alpine scenery without obstruction by future development. The car park is accessed from the street. Outdoor steps along the eastern façade lead to the house entrances. All the buildings have similar characteristics, such as their embedding into the terrain, south-facing living rooms and bedrooms with large-scale glazing and generous terraces. The design of the exterior grounds sensitively reacts to the natural conditions. The incline of the outdoor steps in the east is adapted to the natural slope of the terrain. The result is a visually fluent transition to the meadows. The greenery on the terraces can be grasped as an act of “returning land to Mother Nature”.
