The location is fascinating due too its situation by the lake and the view of the Alpine foothills. The property slopes downwards towards the east until it reaches a drop-off that provides access to a small lakeside swimming area via a steep path. The angular volume is positioned with a protective wing along the street, while its other wing penetrates the depth of the property. The living floor is designed to follow the topography. Together with the large terrace towards the garden, it is orientated towards the landscape of Lake Lucerne. The atmosphere of the building is characterised by the typology, a kind of courtyard building, with strong references to the interior and exterior. Colour tones of dark reddish wood, varnished surfaces, black polished granite, softly reflecting black water surfaces and paper-coloured walls define the atmosphere within. The outdoor spaces are characterised by the clay-coloured concrete, flush glazing, sliding doors, ecru-coloured blinds and the wooden boarding. The load-bearing structure consists of an in-situ cast reinforced concrete construction with clay-coloured, stained fair-faced concrete surfaces. The almost support-free main living area is the result of the building’s bridge-like suspension structure.
