The property includes beautiful garden grounds with tall trees. The main building volume is situated in the northeastern corner of the plot and spans the spatial depth of the garden in a diagonal southward direction. This creates a garden with a generous effect of depth, while the distance to the large trees ensures an unconstrained spatial atmosphere. The building’s orientation enables various alignments. A covered garden space has been established to the south, while the open garden towards the west affords a terrace-like view of the rolling landscape. In the north, large windows frame views of Lake Constance. A garden pavilion clamps the house and the garden together and provides additional places to gather in the park. The rooms, which form spatial sequences, are designed as peaceful, cell-like units. The building is entered via halls that are each two storeys high, allowing natural light to shine deep into the building. The halls connect the entrance area to the living floor, the living floor to the bedroom level, and the bedroom level to a further bedroom floor with a rooftop terrace.
This attic level is an attractive living space, for instance as a summer retreat, with distant views. The tower-like accessing structure has an elegant appearance and consolidates the idea of a vertical spatial sequence inside the building.
